My dear Sir
I am very much obliged to you for having sent me a copy of your essay, for these ancient forms are preeminently interesting, & I shall be very glad to read your account.—1
I shall not be at York, much as I shd. have liked it, for I have not strength sufficient. Nor if I were strong enough, I could not now attend, as my elder brother has just died, & is to be buried here tomorrow.2
