2.20 Montford, terracotta bust, NPG

Horace Montford presented this terracotta bust of Darwin to the National Portrait Gallery in January 1905. He explained that it was the model for the bronze busts commissioned by Andrew Carnegie in 1901, one of which is now in the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.
