From J. D. Hooker to Emma Darwin [21 March 1866]1
Kew
Wednesday
Dear Mrs Darwin
Thanks for your kind note.2 Mrs Hooker is going to spend Sunday, with a Lady friend near Sydenham, she would have been delighted to come, but I think she had better wait for better weather. And now that your husband is “restored to his friends” I hope I may ask to bring her before long.3
I am counting the days till Saturday4
Ever most sincerely Yrs | Jos D Hooker
