Jean-François (Isaac-François Macaire-Prinsep) Macaire
1796–1869
Swiss pharmacist. Member of the Société de Physique et d’Histoire Naturelle de Genève and colleague of Augustin Pyramus de Candolle. Adopted the name Isaac-François Macaire in 1824 after his marriage to Caroline Prinsep (1796–1858) and frequently published under the name Macaire-Prinsep. Published widely on chemistry and botany.
