Alessandro Garbi
Italian military officer and businessman. Attempted to launch a commercial venture in California in the 1850s. Lieutenant in the Piedmontese Army in the Independence Wars, 1860–1, 1866; retired from the army in 1871. Florentine agent for the company responsible for introducing Edison’s electric light system into Italy, 1882.
