Mary Sinclair (1857–1915)
1837/8–1915
Teacher. Daughter of John Mowat, quarry labourer, and his wife Mary. Born in St Andrews, Orkney. Married James Leask Sinclair in Orkney in 1857. Emigrated to New Zealand, 1865; resided in Auckland and Wellington. Had four children in Britain, and more in New Zealand; a son died on voyage to New Zealand.
