Friedrich Arnold Brockhaus
1772–1823
German publisher. Founded the publishing house F. A. Brockhaus in Amsterdam, 1805. Relocated to Leipzig in 1817 or 1818. Acquired the Conversations-Lexikon, begun by Löbel and Franke in 1796, in 1808.
