Gotlieb August Wilhelm Herrich-Schäffer
1799–1874
German entomologist and physician. District and municipal court physician, Regensburg, 1833–58. Founded the zoological and mineralogical society of Regensburg, 1846. Created a new system of classification of Lepidoptera based on wing-venation.
