Member of the faculty of law of the University of Sydney and fellow of the senate, 1859–94. MP for King and Georgiana, 1858–9; for Yass Plains, 1861–5. Solicitor-general in the first Martin ministry, 1863–5. Puisne judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, 1865–88.
