Maria Theresa Longworth (1867–1881)
1833–81
Author. Daughter of Thomas Longworth, silk manufacturer of Manchester, and his wife, Ann Fox. Married William Charles Yelverton (fourth Viscount Avonmore from 1870) in 1857. Brought a legal action against Yelverton when he married Emily Marianne Forbes, widow of the natural historian Edward Forbes (1815–14), in 1858, but her marriage was finally pronounced invalid by the House of Lords in 1867.
