Dear Sir
I do not know whether you ever give “testimonials” but, being at present a candidate for the chair of Zoology in Owens College, & having in remembrance yr very kind letter regarding my paper on St Helena, I venture to ask you for one.1
Pray pardon me for troubling you & | Believe me to be | Yrs very truly | F Buchanan White.
P.S. I take this opportunity of sending you a copy of a paper of which I have lately received copies.2
