Edward Salisbury Dana
1849–1935
American mineralogist. Son of James Dwight Dana. Graduated from Yale University, 1870; undertook graduate studies at Yale, Heidelberg, and Vienna; PhD Yale, 1876. Curator of mineralogy, 1874–1922; assistant professor of natural philosophy, 1879–90; professor of physics, 1890–1917. Published on mineralogy.
