Charles Baker Adams
1814–53
American geologist and naturalist. Professor of chemistry and natural history, Middlebury College, Vermont, 1838. Vermont state geologist, 1845. Professor of natural history and astronomy, Amherst, Massachusetts, 1847–53. Travelled in Jamaica, 1843–4 and 1848–9, where he collected and studied molluscs.
