Mary Congreve
1745–1823
Shrewsbury friend of the Darwin family. Daughter of Thomas and Ann Catharine Congreve of Baswich or Berkswich, Staffordshire. Left Robert Waring Darwin ten guineas to buy a ring ‘as a trifling remembrance of many kindnesses he has shown myself and sisters’.
