Émile Alglave
1842–1928
French economist and editor. Studied palaeography and law at the École des chartes, Paris, and received a doctorate in law, 1868. Professor, faculty of law, Douai, 1870; taught political economy, Lille, 1873; professor, scientific finance, faculty of law, Paris, 1878. Co-founder and director of the journals Revue des cours scientifiques and Revue des cours littéraires, 1864–80. Worked mainly in the area of tax reform.
