Darwin Correspondence Project

To John Murray   26 [December 1859]

Down Bromley Kent

26th

My dear Sir

I have this day run my eye over last proof of the new Edition & returned it to Messrs Clowes— So that nothing but printing off & binding remains.—

I suppose that you have remembered the Plate or Diagram: it would be well to give caution about the copies being printed clearly.

Yours sincerely | C. Darwin

Please remember the remaining clean sheets to “Prof. Asa Gray, Cambridge, Massachussetts U.S.—”1

Footnotes

See letters to Asa Gray, 24 December [1859], and to John Murray, 22 December [1859] and 24 December [1859].

Summary

Has sent off last proof of 2d ed. of Origin. Assumes JM has remembered the diagram. Asks that remaining clean sheets be sent to Asa Gray.
