Julius Althaus
1833–1900
German-born and trained expert in neurological medicine. Practised in London from 1860 and developed electrotherapy for the treatment of epilepsy. Founded the Regent’s Park Hopital for Epilepsy and Paralysis (later the Maida Vale Hospital for Nervous Diseases), 1866; hospital physician, 1866–94.
