Karl Johann (Karl) von Seidlitz
1798–1885
Baltic German doctor. MD, Dorpat (Tartu), 1821. Joined the Russian army and served in the naval hospital at St Petersburg, 1822–6. Held several appointments in military field hospitals. Professor of clinical medicine, medical–surgical academy, St Petersburg, 1837–47. Retired to Dorpat.
