William Alexander Wooler
Landowner , colliery owner and agriculturalist , of Halliwell House, Heighington, and Sadberge Hall, Darlington, County Durham. Started the conservative newspaper, the North-Eastern Independent, 1879. Founder of Darlington Conservative Association. Member of the Darlington Rural Sanitary Authority. Instrumental in founding the South Durham and North Yorkshire Chamber of Agriculture.
