James Ussher
1581–1656
Clergyman. Professor of divinity at Dublin, 1607–20/1. Vice-chancellor of Trinity College, Dublin, 1614. Appointed archbishop of Armagh in 1824/5. His version of biblical chronology was the standard adopted in editions of the English Bible.
