Joseph Parrish Thompson
1819–79
American clergyman. Graduated from Yale in 1838; studied for the ministry at Andover and New Haven. Ordained, 1840. Congregational clergyman in New York City, 1845–71. Anti-slavery campaigner. Studied Egyptology. Lived in Germany after his retirement.
