Clergyman and author on cattle-breeding. BA, Cambridge (Trinity Hall), 1834. Deacon, 1834; priest, 1835. Rector of Hawksworth, Nottinghamshire, 1837–50. Frequent contributor to the Live Stock Journal under the pen name Historicus. His account of the wild white cattle of Great Britain was published posthumously.
