Austrian naturalist and ornithologist. Assistant curator of birds and mammals at the Kaiserlich-königliche Hofnaturaliencabinet, 1851; curator of the ornithological collection, 1857; of the mammal collection, 1869. Co-editor of Die Schwalbe (Ornithological Society magazine).
