Jacobus Albertus Willebrordus (Jacob) Moleschott
Dutch physician and physiologist. General practitioner, Utrecht, 1845–7. Lecturer in physiology and anthropology, Heidelberg, 1847–54. Appointed professor of physiology, Zürich, 1856; professor of experimental physiology and physiological chemistry, Turin, 1861. Noted as an advocate of materialist philosophy.
