Ordained priest, 1852; curate of Wath-on-Dearne, Yorkshire, 1855-9; of St Peter’s, Leeds, 1861–3; chaplain of Leeds Gaol, 1863–7; vicar of Lingen, Herefordshire, 1870–4; assistant chaplain, Savoy Chapel, 1881–5. Fellow of the Linnean Society of London, 1867.
