Henry Lonsdale

Physician and biographer. MD, Edinburgh University, 1838. Physician to Royal Public Dispensary, Edinburgh, 1841–5; to Cumberland Infirmary, 1846–68. Fellow, Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, 1851. Author of the six-volume series Worthies of Cumberland (1867–75), and biographer of the anatomist Robert Knox (1791–1862).
