Thornton Leigh Hunt
1810–73
Journalist. Contributed regularly to the Spectator, 1840–60; also wrote for other newspapers and for magazines. In 1850, helped his friend George Henry Lewes to establish the Leader. In 1855, joined the staff of the Daily Telegraph, writing mainly on political subjects.
