Eugen Askenasy
1845–1903
German botanist. Studied agriculture at the academy in Hohenheim, 1862. PhD, botany, Heidelberg, 1866; habilitated, 1872; professor extraordinarius, 1881; honorary professor, 1897. Studied the physics of water transport, physiology of plant growth, and algology.
