Andrew Duncan, the younger

Physician and expert in forensic science. Son of Andrew Duncan (1744–1828) and his wife, Mary Knox. MD, Edinburgh, 1794. Studied in London and Europe. Published the Edinburgh new dispensatory (1803); it went through many editions. Chief editor of the Edinburgh Medical and Surgical Journal. Professor of materia medica, Edinburgh University, 1821–32.
