Charles William Crocker
Horticulturalist . Spent time in Germany as a gardener at the summer residence of Victoria, crown princess of Prussia, near Berlin, before becoming foreman of the propagating department at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, 1857–61/2. Moved to his native Chichester, where he worked as a journalist and cathedral official.
