To Royal Geographical Society 23 April [1843]
Down | Bromley | Kent
My dear Sir
Thank you for your obliging offer of putting me on the list for the Council of the Geographical Soc: I should feel much interest in serving in that capacity, but I find that coming up to town robs me of so much time, that I fear I should scarcely ever attend & would therefore prefer not at present being put on the list; some future year I trust I shall have more spare activity
Yours very sincerely | Charles Darwin April 23d.
Summary
Thanks Jackson for putting him on list for Council of Geographical Society, but he is unable to serve.
