Do you know anything 〈about〉 Woking. A grand man—a Dr Brushfield2—wants to become the Superintendant of a new Asylum there. He is a perfect man for the situation & I shd much like to see him there.

The date is established by the date of appointment of the superintendent of Brookwood Asylum (see n. 2, below).
Thomas Nadauld Brushfield was appointed superintendent of Brookwood Asylum, Woking, on 1 March 1866.


Would much like to see Dr Birchfield appointed superintendent of the new asylum at Woking.
