Karl August Heinrich (Heinrich) Bodinus
1818–84
German zoologist. Studied medicine, natural science, and zoology at the University of Greifswald, 1833–6. Physician in Bergen (Rügen) and Greifswald. Appointed to construct the Cologne Zoological Garden in 1859; senior director of Berlin Zoological Garden, 1869.
