Darwin Correspondence Project

To A. P. Fletcher   [after 14 March 1874]1

Mr Pearson has resided for several years in this village, until recently as the Schoolmaster of the National School—2 During the whole of this time I have never heard even a rumour that he is not quite Trustworthy. As I know nothing of the Duties of an agent for an A. Coy.3 I cannot pretend to say whether he is very fitted to fulfill them.
