Jany 24 1873
My dear Sir
It will be requisite to send the Popular edition of the “Origin of Species” to press, as we have exhausted the first edition of 3000 Copies.!!!1
There are of course plenty of copies in the hands of the booksellers, but we are out & owe the trade some, on account of our last Trade Sale.2
I write therefore to ask you if you have found any errors which had better be corrected in the stereotype plates?
We are getting together the various items of expense of your new work3 & you will hear shortly from Mr Murray
Yours faithfully | Robt. Cooke
Chas. Darwin Esq
