From Albert Günther 19 June 1872
British Museum
19.6.72
My dear Sir
You will be glad to hear that I have been appointed Assistant Keeper last week;1 as I was spared the trial of a competition, the affair passed off very smoothly.
Fred. Smith is still unwell & away, although he writes me he hopes to be back next week. But whilst he is away, I have to look after so many things, that scientific work is neglected altogether.
Yours very sincerely | A Günther
