I have been very glad to receive this morning your letter which refers to my little bibliograghic paper in the “Zeitschrift für Ethnologie.”¹ Yesterday evening, when I added some titles to my list, I said to my brother that I had totally forgotten to send you a specimen of my list.² You may imagine how I was astonished when Prof. Hartmann, the editor of the “Zeitschrift für Ethnologie” gave me your letter.³ To show me thankful I shall be glad to inform you of the new publications and some older ones, which I had not yet mentioned in my list. Some of the works which you had the kindness to communicate with me I had already found myself.⁴ But no other author neither German nor English has till now sent me any contribution to my list. If you would take the trouble to inform me still once more in future of new publications, I should be greatly obliged; at the same time you may perhaps say me which are the two scientific periodicals, in which my list has been noticed, because I have not yet seem them.

In the second part of the “Zeitschrift für Ethnologie” shall be published a criticism of your work on the “Descent of Man and Selection in relation to Sex” by D^r A. Bastian.⁶

If there is published in future a work on the theory of natural selection, which is worth to be translated into German, because it gives new facts for the solution of this great problem, I shall always be ready to elaborate a translation, whenever you wish it.
