My dear Fox
I was very glad to receive your letter & to find that you can receive me next week at Osmaston.— I write these few lines, to tell you that I shall be in Derby on Tuesday Evening, but I am afraid my visit must be very short. Erasmus came home on Tuesday, & intends only staying a fortnight or 3 weeks at Shrewsbury & then goes for the winter to Paris; so that I shall scarce be able to see anything of him.—
I long to Entomologize with you, & have brought my duplicates with me.—
There are literally no Partridges in this part of the country. I have been out two days & have only killed 3 birds a day.—
Yours affectionately | Chas. Darwin
