My dear Hooker

If I do not hear to the contrary I will come to Kew with Lizzie alone (for my wife & Etty are both afraid of the exertion, though they wd. enjoy it) on Saturday morning by Train which arrives at Kew at 10o 40' & return by the 12o 25', or possibly 12. 55' for my strength will be by that time exhausted by walking & seeing the Hot-houses. Hence we will not accept your invitation for Luncheon.—

If Saturday morning shd. be wet, it shall be Monday if not inconvenient to you.—
