Dear Sir

I forwarded the paper respecting Caldy, to Mr Charles Darwin— it found him unfortunately very ill in bed, but it has excited his interest very much, and he wrote down a list of questions, which he would be obliged to you to answer— He desired his sister in law to write a note for him, but she thought it would perhaps be more satisfactory to send the notes he had written down himself which you will excuse, when you know it was written from his bed— His present address is J Wedgwoods Esqre Maer Hall—Newcastle—Staffordshire—and his house in town—is 12 Upper Gower St
