CD had sent a handwritten copy of his queries about expression with his letter to Mueller of 28 February [1867], asking Mueller to forward it to someone capable of answering the questions from direct observation of Aboriginal peoples. The enclosure has not been found. - +

The missionaries have not been identified. However, the missionaries Friedrich August Hagenauer and John Bulmer, both, like Wilson, working in Victoria, Australia, are cited in Expression, pp. 19--20.
