I am indeed grieved to hear so bad an account of Mr. Darwins health, but hope that he may possibly be better now that he has returned home.

Your kind note reached me just as I was starting for a short visit to the Valley of the Somme.

The article in the Record, was the one I wanted; it shall be returned to you ere long.
