Dear Charles

If you have not already written me the letter, never mind, as the obliging sub Lib of the Museum went to the Geolog: & did the necessary.

It is really wondeful the trouble Carlyle takes for such a minute point— I have had 4 or 5 letters & he has probably written half a dozen besides
