My dear Sir

I received a letter last week from Mr Lyell, in which he asks me to tell you, that by some misunderstanding he did not know you wanted Mr Whewell’s History of the Induct: Sc:f2 & that he consequently sent it up to Scotland. He begs me to send my copy on to you, in place of his.
