Friedrich Adolph Roemer, Rudolph Amandus Philippi, and Friedrich Karl Ludwig Koch. In Fossil Cirripedia (1851): vi, CD wrote: ‘Having applied to Professor W. Dunker, of Cassel, for some of the species described by various German authors, he not only sent me many specimens out of his own collection, but procured from Messrs. Roemer, Koch, and Philippi, other specimens of great value; and to these most distinguished naturalists I beg to return my very sincere thanks.’ - +

This is the first mention of published copies of Fossil Cirripedia (1851) being available. The letter has a covering note to Dunker from John Morris, dated 22 April, listing the contents of the parcel being sent to Dunker. It includes ‘4 Copies of Mr Darwin's Work’.
