My dear Sir

Many thanks for all the care you wish to take. I enclose two boards with specimens— you will see the central ridge is very little larger than the other longitudinal striæ, & that there are no marginal lateral main ridges as in some other species.— I send also the Scutum.— Attend to the Section of the Carina.—f1

It is unfortunate, but I observe that the figures which have given most trouble are those of which drawings were made!

With thanks | Yours sincerely | C. Darwin

P.S. When convenient you can let me know what I am indebted to you—

P.S. All the specimens can perhaps be put together in the present Box & sent to the Geological Society, informing me of them as soon as sent there.—
