From John Higgins   1 March 1848

Alford

lst. March 1848

Dear Sir,

I have received your favor of the 28th Ulto, and altho’ I consider Mr Mason’s request frivolous and unnecessary; I will attend to his wishes by paying him the £5, a year out of your Lady Day Rents instead of at Michs. which will be £2 10 0 always in advance— there will be no occasion for me keeping any balance in hand.

I am | Dear Sir | Your faithful Servant | (Signed) John Higgins C. Darwin Esq

Summary

Agrees to pay Mr Mason as requested.
