To an editor 12 October [1871]1
Down, | Beckenham, Kent.
Oct 12th
Dear Sir
I can have no objection to the portrait & memoir of myself in your Review as proposed. The best photographs of me have been taken by Mr Rejlander, & as it will save you trouble I send you one.—2 I shd. be obliged for a copy of your Review, if you keep to your intention, as not living in London I may not hear when it is published.—3
Dear Sir | Yours faithfully | Ch. Darwin
