To John Warburton Robinson 1 February 1869
Due from the Revd. J. W. Robinson on account of School1
27"12"5
Ch. Darwin
Feb. 1. 1869.—2
Footnotes
CD had acted as treasurer for the Down National School accounts, but had passed on the responsibility to Robinson in 1868. In December 1868, Robinson went to Ireland for three months; CD had expressed concern about school subscriptions in Robinson’s absence (see Correspondence vol. 16, letter to J. B. Innes, 1 December 1868) and evidently took over the treasureship again in 1869 (see letter from John Lubbock, 8 February 1869, and Bromley Public Library, Downe National School Annual Report 1869 (P123/5/7)).
The document is countersigned ‘J. Robinson’.
