Absence from town has prevented me acknowledging earlier your letter of the 23d Ult informing me of my Election as Fellow of the Geological society—
In pursuance with your letter I beg to enclose the Obligation signed by me, and have written above an order for the amount of my entrance & subscription which I shall feel obliged by your handing to the Treasurer whose address I am ignorant of
